How often should your dog go for a walk?

The amount of exercise your dog needs depends on their age, breed, size, health, and energy level. At least one walk a day!

As a general rule, dogs should be walked at least once a day for 20-30 minutes. This gives them the exercise they need and gives them a chance to got potty and explore their surroundings.

Certain dogs may need more exercise than others like your high-energy breeds (Border Collies, German Shepherds). These dogs may require two or more walks a day. They will need more playtime, too. You need to keep these types of dogs physically and mentally stimulated!

Older dogs or dogs with health issues may need shorter walks or more frequent breaks.

Dog walks can be adjusted based on weather conditions. Your dog sitter should take your dog on shorter walks during extreme heat or cold, and longer walks when the weather is mild.

Going for a walk with your dog is good for mental stimulation. One-on-one playtime and practicing training exercises can be lots of fun!
